AVON COSMETICS PHILIPPINES, INC. with a nationwide network of at least 50 Service Centers catering to agents and retailers, Avon Philippines tapped TIM's expertise in managing a Virtual Private Network (VPN) whose core infrastructure was homed-in to TIM's Network Operations Center (NOC). This NOC was linked to a local Internet Service Provider (ISP) via a high-speed dedicated leased line.
Monitoring of fast moving goods like cosmetics is a paramount concern to Avon. Thus, using the Internet as a delivery channel for mission-critical reports was the business decision adopted by Avon's management. The Internet, however, was an open domain that presented certain data security risks. TIM made sure that these risks were addressed by setting-up a central VPN infrastructure with appropriate point-to-point security mechanisms.
