Market-leader Total Information Management Corp. (TIM) recently signed a contract with the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) for the implementation of PRC’s information security infrastructure.

The deal’s core objective is to analyze, design, document, implement, and deploy an integrated security management system infrastructure for the PRC. TIM’s multi-faceted project management approach will cover critical areas ranging from Data Center security up to network security.

“Our proven experience in delivering integrated, multi-platform solutions and services to government agencies is a living testimony of TIM’s commitment to PRC to make this project succeed. PRC can rest assured that its critical IT infrastructure – from servers to desktops – are automatically scanned for vulnerabilities and weaknesses so that these can be fixed prior to any possible security incident that may compromise confidential information stored in PRC’s computers,” says Mr. Jose Mari M. Antunez, President and CEO of TIM.

“With TIM working with us, PRC now has an increased level of confidence in protecting our systems against risks and threats of intrusions from both external and internal sources. We shall be able to reinforce our existing IT security policies by tailor-fitting our requirements to world-class standards,” says Dr. Leonor Tripon-Rosero, Chairperson of PRC.

Apart from delivering servers and software to PRC, TIM will also provide consulting services that will empower PRC to “sharpen the saw” in terms of preparing itself for eventual compliance with global IT security standards, specifically ISO 27001 (formerly known as ISO 17799). TIM will assist PRC in defining the framework for a documented Information Security Management System within the context of PRC's overall business risks. With this framework, PRC can then decide to undergo a certification process to achieve full ISO 27001 compliance.

TIM is a 100% Filipino-owned IT company established in 1985 and is a leading technology services company providing hardware, software, maintenance services, system integration, business recovery and outsourcing services for some of the country's largest enterprises.
